On July 20, 1969 there occurred an historical event unlike any before it. Men from earth first walked on the alien landscape of the moon. Where did it all start? Why did we go there? In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing, the McKay Library presents “From Earth to the Moon” a photographic exhibit of historic images showing our journey from Sputnik, the first artificial satellite to circle the Earth to Neil Armstrong's first step onto the lunar surface. This exhibit is on display in the East Gallery of the McKay Library at BYU-Idaho, July 1 to August 31, 2009. |
