Collections

The library maintains a well-balanced collection of traditional materials and new technology as it serves the needs of the students, faculty, and staff of Brigham Young University Idaho. The core collection includes approximately 160,000 books, 800 periodical subscriptions, government documents, reference CD-ROM's, a large video collection, microfiche and microfilm, and many online databases. The K-12 Curriculum is housed on the third floor and includes the latest textbooks and supplementary materials that are being considered for adoption in the state of Idaho.

Special Collections consists of manuscripts and archival materials. This collection is located in the Arthur Porter Room on the second floor of the Library. The manuscripts contain information about the history of the Upper Snake River Valley and of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The archives consist of the historical records of Brigham Young University Idaho, formerly Ricks College.

The Music CD Collection is housed in the main circulation area on the first floor and consists of approximately 2500 CD's. The collection includes classical, jazz, and popular music.

The Video Collection is located in the Media Center on the third floor. Included in this collection are approximately 8600 videos which may be searched using the online catalog. A video viewing area is available for individuals and groups to view selections from the collection.
