Basic Format:

Author's Last Name, First Name. "Article Title." Name of Periodical. Volume number.Issue number. (Date of publication): Page range or number of pages. Date of access <URL>.

Example:

World Wide Web Site

Basic Format:

Last name, first name. Title. Date of access. <Internet address>.

Example:

Dawe, James. Jane Austen Page. 15 Sept. 1998 <http:// nyquist.ee.ualberta.ca/~dawe/austen.html>.

CD-ROM

Basic Format:

Author's name. "Title of work cited." Title of the publication. Publication information. CD-ROM. Name of vendor. Electronic publication date.

Examples:

Kubal, David L. "A Tale of Two Cities (Masterplots Classic)." Masterplots Complete. Ver. 2.0. CD-ROM. Masterplots. 1999.

E-Mail

Basic Format:

Name of writer. "Subject." E-mail to the author. Date of message.

Day, Martha. "Review of Film-Bad Lieutenant." E-mail to the author. 30 July 1995.

Online Posting

Basic Format:

Author. "Title or subject." Online posting. Date posted. Name of forum. Date of access. URL or e-mail address of moderator.

Example:

Holland, Norman. "Overcoming Depression." Online posting. 19 Mar. 1997. Psyart. 21 Mar. 1997. <http:// web.clas.ufl.edu/ipsa/psyart.htm>.

Online Journal Site

Basic Format:

Author. "Title of article." Journal Title. Volume issue (year): paging or indicator of length. Internet address (Access date).

Example:

Inada, Kenneth. "A Buddhist Response to the Nature of Human Rights." Journal of Buddhist Ethics 2 (1995): 9 para. http://ww.cac.psu.edu/jbel/twocont.html (21 June 1995).
